PASS PLUS

PASS PLUS is a road safety initiative aimed at improving the skills of novice and new drivers alike.

As a new driver, you are more likely to have an accident in the first year after passing your test than at any other time. After pupils pass their test they can pay for structured tuition from a registered PASS PLUS instructor. The scheme consists of six modules, which follow on from a successful practical driving test.

The areas covered include :

  • Driving in town

  • Out of town

  • In all weathers

  • At night

  • On dual carriageways

  • On motorways

THE MODULES

The modules will take a minimum of six hours to complete. You will have to reach a set standard for each module - a module can take just one lesson or sometimes more. When the required standard for a module is reached, your instructor will sign and date the section as completed. When all 6 modules have been completed, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) will issue a certificate.

Remember, there is no test to take. Pass Plus can save you money and make you a better driver. Those reaching the standard should also be entitled to a substantial discount on their motor insurance from companies supporting the scheme.
